So This Happened… Week of Oct. 25 to 31
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Oct. 31, 2021) — Today’s the day to celebrate the scary – and silly – aspects of the Halloween tradition.
To get in the mood for tonight’s festivities, check out the Pioneer’s photo collages showcasing local creativity in costumes and décor.
Water, water everywhere: The crowd cheered as the levee broke and water rushed into the 212-acre Pacheco Marsh. The area is expected to change quickly – with new vegetation and the return of birds and fish.
On the front lines: The Contra Costa Fire Protection District is proud to announce that 10 seasonal fire workers have joined ConFire’s Academy as firefighter recruits. The school is one of only 25 accredited academies statewide.
