So This Happened... Week of Jan. 3 through 9, 2022CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Jan. 9, 2022) — As the Omicron variant drives a rapid increase in COVID-19 infections, the Mount Diablo Unified School District provided thousands of rapid result test kits ahead of return to schools. Meanwhile, Cal State East Bay opted to start the spring semester virtually.

And, Pleasant Hill City Hall joins the list of public buildings closing temporarily due to safety concerns.

Giving it the old college try: Nineteen high school athletes from the Class of 2022 are signing on the dotted line to play at colleges across the country. This comes as local winter sports teams strive for post-season play.
