CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Sept. 18, 2022) — Concord High and Northgate continue undefeated after four weeks.
Northgate’s defense continued to shine in a 38-0 shutout at Bethel-Vallejo.
The Minutemen weren’t able to play last week as winless Richmond canceled its game on Wednesday citing “player safety” concerns. Concord coach Paul Reynaud is potentially looking to replace the non-league game on the Sept 30-Oct 1 weekend before the team starts Diablo Athletic League Valley Division play Oct 7 at College Park.
De La Salle traveled to San Diego last Friday and held off host defending 1-AA State Champion Cathedral Catholic 28-20.
Clayton Valley Charter’s late game woes at Gonsalves Stadium continued when the Ugly Eagles fell short to visiting Turlock 35-33 for their third close home defeat this season. The team has a bye this week to prepare for its final non-league game Oct. 1 at Jesuit in Carmichael.
This Friday, undefeated Northgate visits College Park for the first game this season between two local teams. De La Salle hosts Folsom in a major intersectional game in Concord after the teams split a pair of games last season.
