Meals on Wheels needs your support now more than ever

A few weeks ago, we set a challenge to sign up 30 members of our Monthly Giving Circle in 30 days. As we respond to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, your monthly support is more important than ever.

Meals on Wheels Diablo Region is committed to delivering meals to our vulnerable seniors during this crisis, but COVID-19 has added an extra burden on our resources. Some volunteers are unable to drive and we are now increasing staff work hours to fill the gaps.

We are taking steps to ensure the health of our clients while making sure they don’t miss a meal. We have invested in hand sanitizer, gloves, and special bags so that we can leave the food out front, step back and wait for our senior clients to retrieve it. We are also providing to-go meals for those that usually attend our CC Cafés.

As a nonprofit, our only sources of revenue are from grants and especially donations from individuals like you. The members of our Monthly Giving Circle provide a source of income we can rely on when unforeseen emergencies occur.

We are committed to feeding our clients despite the challenges we face, but we can’t do it without your support. Please help us during this time of crisis meet the 30 in 30 challenge by becoming a member of the Monthly Giving Circle so that we can meet the need in our community every day. Your help allows us to ensure seniors can remain safely in their homes, with health and dignity.
