Contra Costa COVID-19 Vaccination Update

Contra Costa COVID-19 Vaccination UpdateCONTRA COSTA COUNTY—County Health Services has created a COVID-19 Vaccination webpage dedicated to the vaccine. The site provides distribution information and FAQs. They will update the page as information develops.

A COVID-19 vaccine is one of the most important tools to end the COVID-19 pandemic. A safe, effective, no-cost COVID-19 Vaccination will be available to everyone in California. The vaccine, paired with other daily health habits, such as wearing face coverings and social distancing, will slow the spread of COVID-19. As a result, businesses and schools can eventually reopen and we can return to a more normal way of life.

Working closely with the California Department of Public Health, the county plans to fairly distribute a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine to everyone in our community.

Limited supplies mean it will take months before the vaccine becomes widely available. Healthcare workers and nursing home staff and residents will get vaccinated first. Next, the county will vaccinate front-line workers and first responders. Supplies will increase over time, and all persons 16 years and older should receive vaccine by the second half of 2021.
