Concord man arrested for I-680 freeway shooting
CONCORD, CA (June 7, 2021) — On Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 9:35AM, California Highway Patrol Officers assigned to the Solano Area received notice of a freeway shooting in the area of northbound Interstate 680, south of Gold Hill Road.
Officers located three bullet holes on the right side of the victim’s vehicle. Fortunately, the victims of the shooting escaped injury.
Detectives from Golden Gate Division CHP assumed the lead on the investigation and identified the suspect vehicle. They served a search warrant and arrested the suspect without incident.
Officers booked Daryl Thornton, a 47-year-old from Concord, at the Solano County Jail for attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon (firearm).
This shooting currently remains under active investigation.
