CONCORD, CA (Jan. 12, 2022) — The City of Concord will close its two dog parks for annual turf renovation and general maintenance starting in February.

Newhall Park Paw Patch Dog Park will close Thursday, February 3. It will reopen Friday, March 18. The City’s Baldwin Dog Park close on Friday, March 18 and will reopen on Tuesday, April 19.

Renovations will include aeration, re-seeding, and adding organic mulch. The schedule also allows time for the natural turf grass to grow and fill in the worn areas.

The Paw Patch and Baldwin dog parks are consistently some of Concord’s most popular amenities available for local canines and their owners. Consistent turf renovations will keep the facilities attractive and safe.

Signs are being posted at the two facilities to ensure the community is aware of the planned maintenance.

The City will also update its Rain Hotline (925) 671-3479 in the event of any future changes.
