CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (June 11, 2023) — At the June 13 meeting, the Concord City Council is expected to approve an amended tobacco retailer license ordinance – adding restrictions that aim to reduce tobacco smoking among youth. Assistant City Manager Justin Ezell said the changes would affect 87 tobacco retailers in the city.

Posters with Pride: A panel selected six student winners in the second annual Clayton Pride Parade Poster Contest. The judges focused on creativity, use of color, and balance of illustration and words. Take a look at all six posters – and the smiling faces of the winners.

Police roundup: A Concord man and a Martinez man died when their homemade bi-plane crashed near the Rio Vista Airport on June 8. Then on June 11, an early morning car crash in Pleasant Hill led to a DUI arrest. For more police news, check out the Concord PD’s arrest report.
