Concord and Clayton residents share their spirit with holiday light displays

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY—Obviously many traditional Christmas celebrations will be missed this year.

No holiday movies at theaters. Nutcracker ballet performances are canceled. No uplifting live shows of A Christmas Carol. Office parties and large family gatherings take place on Zoom.

Perhaps because of this, outdoor holiday light displays on homes have taken on more significance than usual. Evening drives through festively lit homes can bring cheer and a sense of community while maintaining social distance and protecting friends and family.

We have collected a sample of decorated homes in Concord and Clayton. We appreciate our neighbors’ efforts to share their holiday spirit and transform our streets into a colorful winter wonderland.

The Concord Clayton Pioneer wishes you safe and happy holiday. Thanks for your support and interest in our newspaper and website. We look forward to delivering you the very best community-focused news in the years to come.
