CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (July 14, 2024) — Concord police arrested seven people who they say were stealing from Ulta Beauty in the Willows shopping center last week. Police estimate they recovered $6,591 in merchandise. For more from Concord PD, see the latest arrest report.

Happily ever after (times two): Just minutes after posting on Nextdoor about his 1973 wedding at the old Concord Inn, Mike Webb found the other couple whose names were on the hotel’s sign that night. Later, Mike and his wife Betsy met up with Lorrie and Dennis Howerton in person. “It’s nice to find Lorrie and Dennis still in the area, and also so nice to have many congrats from folks on Nextdoor,” said Mike.
