CONCORD, CA (Mar. 4, 2024) — The original music showcase “Singer Songwriter Sunday” returns to Todos Santos Plaza on April 7 at 2 PM.  Subsequent dates for the 2024 series are May 12 (Mother’s Day) and June 2, with music starting at 2 PM each day.

The April showcase features 6 unique acts, ranging from traditional folk and country, to live-looping and electro-pop fusion!   Vallejo artist Soul Glitch will dazzle the audience with his army of synthesizers and wind instruments to create what he appropriately calls “Epic Soultronica.”  The creative force behind Oakland rock band M Jones and Melee, Margaret Jones, will be sharing some of her original offerings.

Americana troubadour Aaron Burnham reimagines California’s Wild West history with his melodic tunes and cowboy croons.  Fans of Ani DiFranco will be sure to enjoy the soulful stylings of indie singer songwriter McClain Sullivan.  From Orinda, Daniel Ray Hilsinger will share with us some of his heart-felt originals he’s written over the last couple years.  And finally, from Pleasant Hill, Ira Mato will be performing his unique original tunes.

The free live music event is curated, managed, and hosted by the volunteers of the Concord Couch Concerts (CCC) team.  As in previous years, the showcase is hosted by Vince Lay of Sabertooth Unicorn.

For the love of original music

“We’re thrilled to be able to do another season of this original music showcase.  This wouldn’t be possible without our first-ever sponsor, Up the Creek Records of Walnut Creek,” explains CCC co-founder Dave Hughes. “The generous contribution from Nic [Taylor] covers the fees associated with renting the stage from the City.  All the artists performing, sound crew, and everyone else making this happen continue to volunteer their time for the love of original local music.”

Organizers encourage attendees to bring their own chairs, blankets, and shade (pop-ups are okay!)

Local visual artists will have booths set-up throughout the afternoon.

Open to the general public, this event welcomes all ages.
