Singer Songwriter Showcase returns to Todos Santos Plaza

Local artists will perform original music on the downtown stage on the first Sundays of the month. Shows start April 2, 2023.

CONCORD, CA (Mar. 9, 2023) — The original music showcase “Singer Songwriter Sunday” returns to Todos Santos Plaza on April 2 at 2PM.

This year’s first showcase features string trio J.B. Barton & Co, Kate & Kristen on harp and cello (of Rose Haze and Dreamscape, respectively), an original bluesy folk set from Jon Lawton on banjo and guitar, the inimitable whimsical songwriter Joshua James Jackson, and Kendra Meneghetti of Martinez indie rock band Box of Matches.

Volunteers of the Concord Couch Concerts (CCC) team fund, curate and manage this free live music event.  As in previous years, Vince Lay of Sabertooth Unicorn will host the showcase.

“We were able to bring the series back last year thanks to a fundraiser event put on by local bands. These included Accidents at Sundown, the 151, and Spring Fling in the fall of 2021.  This year, small donations made by individuals who attended last year’s events funded our events,” explains CCC co-founder Dave Hughes. “As long as the demand is there and we have funds to work with, we’ll keep this going, hopefully, for years to come.”

  • Organizers encourage attendees to bring their own chairs, blankets, and shade (pop-ups are okay!)
  • Local visual artists will have booths set-up throughout the afternoon.
  • This is an all-ages event, open to the general public.
  • All artists performing are doing so for the love of the local music community.
