Rep. DeSaulnier will hold town hall on gun violence today, Oct. 26

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Oct. 26, 2022) — Every day over 100 people lose their lives to gun violence in the United States. Many believe we cannot accept this as normal.

Learn more at a town hall on October 26 at 2:30 p.m. The event will highlight local efforts that have proven successful in reducing gun violence in California and Contra Costa County. How can you help to implement these policies nationwide?

Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) will join special guests to help answer your questions at this online town hall. Dr. Garen Wintemute and Allison Anderman will provide their expertise and help answer your questions.

Wintemute is Director of the University of California Davis’s Violence Prevention Research Program.  Anderman is Senior Counsel and Director of Local Policy at Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

The panel will also talk about DeSaulnier’s “Not Here” initiative. It would help use Contra Costa as a model for gun violence reduction across the country.
