CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Jan. 2, 2023) — Your Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery service provides 2 easy ways to recycle your Christmas tree in Contra Costa County.

Remember to remove all decorations and the stand before recycling.

AT THE CURB: Scheduled in advance. Trucks will pick up your Christmas tree curbside at no additional charge. You must cut trees over 3 feet into 3-feet sections before placing the pieces inside or next to your yard waste cart. Pieces larger than 3 feet cannot fit inside the truck.

DROP OFF: Take it to the Recycling Center and Transfer Station (RCTS) (Contra Costa Waste Services) located at:
1300 Loveridge Rd, Pittsburg, during regular business hours. They will take Christmas trees at no charge – limit one tree per vehicle.

NOTE: Remove all tinsel, ornaments, and tree stand. Flocked trees cannot be recycled and must be disposed of as garbage. Consider using an artificial flocked tree that can be reused year after year.
