PLEASANT HILL, CA (Sept. 9, 2022) — On Thursday, a Pleasant Hill resident called local police to report a suspicious package. They discovered what looked like an explosive device in a dumpster near the 300 Block of Camelback Rd.

After PHPD Officers arrived to investigate, they called up their partners at Walnut Creek PD. Specifically, they asked for some assistance from the WC Bomb Squad.

After an assessment, the Bomb Squad quickly identified the item as a prop/toy and presented no danger.

The saying if you “see something, say something” is important. The Pleasant Hill Police Dept. send thanks to the residents in the Camelback area for patience and understanding during the investigation which caused some traffic delays in the area.
