Opening of Clayton's new Sip 'n Sweet, ice cream shop delayed
Supply chain issues have caused a delay in getting Clayton’s new ice cream and dessert shop open in June as planned.

CLAYTON, CA (June 21, 2022) — Ice cream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream.

…and yogurt and coffee and Hawaiian shaved ice and French crepes.

And it’s all coming soon to downtown Clayton when Sip ‘n Sweet opens in late July or early August.

Local owners Danielle Andre-Grimsey and her husband Patrick had planned a June opening in time for the Pride Parade, Fourth of July and the BBW Cook off. But plagued by supply chain issues, they couldn’t get the freezers finished in time.

“There’s no place in Clayton for kids to hang out,” a disappointed Andre-Grimsey told us last week. “We really want to be that place and we were hoping for this summer.”

The shop is on the corner of Marsh Creek Rd. and Center Ave. in the Village Oaks building space formerly occupied by Snap Fitness.

Sip ‘n Sweet will initially open with premium ice cream, made-from-scratch frozen yogurt and Stumptown Coffee. French crepes and other goodies will soon follow.
