CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Jan. 10, 2024) — The Contra Costa County Flood Control District, Walnut Creek Watershed Council, and Contra Costa Resource Conservation District are working together to create a Watershed Restoration Plan for the Walnut Creek Watershed.

The Walnut Creek Watershed Restoration Plan will identify restoration opportunities in and near creeks and wetlands to improve natural habitats for fish and wildlife, improve water quality, reduce fire risk, and minimize maintenance.

You can participate in finding, defining, vetting, and prioritizing restoration opportunities to create a Watershed Restoration Plan that will help guide restoration activities in the watershed for the next 20-30 years. The completed Plan will be directly shared with our environmental resource agencies and will also be available for your use.

This meeting will introduce the purpose of the Watershed Restoration Plan.  It will also help explore restoration site opportunities to include. The Contra Costa Library System will host the meeting.

Please join us virtually on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
