Historical society to auction books about Bay Area bridges and more -

*“The First Annual Progress Report on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge,” published in 1934, is among the books available at the July 15 auction.*

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (July 5, 2023) — The Contra Costa County Historical Society is holding an auction on July 15 of books relating to Bay Area bridges and other aspects of engineering and public works.

The 20-25 specialty books also include historic Bay Area planning documents. None of the books is specific to Contra Costa County.

Bidding begins at 11 a.m. and closes at 2 p.m. at the historical society’s booth at the Maker’s Market in downtown Martinez. All proceeds benefit the society’s archives and the preservation of county history.
