Friends gather for ‘ugly dress’ birthday celebration

CLAYTON, CA – After Lisa York found a “heinously ugly dress” on clearance at Target, she did a Google search and discovered #targetdresschallenge.

“On Instagram #targetdresschallenge, folks buy the dresses and re-enact old-time photos in the dress. It’s all I wanted for my birthday,” she said.

The group had some fun posing downtown in the old-fashioned dresses, with professional photographer Andre Thompson capturing the moment.

“Then, after changing, we had a lovely brunch at the Groveside Bistro,” York said. “It was the perfect day.”
