Female student stable after being stabbed at Northgate High School

State Education Board rejects attempted breakaway Northgate DistrictWalnut Creek, CA (April 26, 2023) — WC Police have announced that the Northgate student who was hospitalized after being stabbed on Tuesday is now in stable condition.

Officers arrested her attacker, a fellow student at the school, for attempted murder.

WCPD continue to investigate the violent assault that took place yesterday afternoon. Police received a call from the school around 1:00 p.m. The caller reported the stabbing of a female student by a male student.

Walnut Creek Police Department officers and detectives arrived, detained the student believed to be responsible. They then quickly determined this was an isolated incident between two students. Based on the initial investigation, they arrested the suspect for PC 664/187 – Attempted Murder and PC 203 – Mayhem.

He was transported to Contra Costa Juvenile Hall and is being held without bail.

The names of the involved parties will not be released, as they are juveniles. No other details are available at this time because this is an active investigation.
