CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (April 25, 2023) — White Pony Express (WPE) invites local restaurants to join its mission to end hunger in Contra Costa County. They ask businesses to donate their surplus food to WPE’s very active Food Rescue Program.

Every day, WPE picks up about 12,000 lb. of perishable food from food outlets and then delivers it to our 90+ non-profit partner recipients, including 14 high-need school sites. All food is redistributed within 24 hours and all programs are free to our recipients.

When you donate your excess food, you will also be combating climate change by keeping food out of the dump, which creates methane gas.

If you have any perishable food products that you would like to donate, you can set up regular or one-time food rescue pick-ups by contacting Pete at peterolsen@whiteponyexpress.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
