CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (May 6, 2024) — Celebrate spring with the Diablo Women’s Chorale’s (DWC) presentation of A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening, a musical experience blending memories, dreams, hope, and the promise of love. The concerts are directed by Erin Fishler with accompanist Rebecca Hass and performed with live musicians including the Stephen Evans Cello Choir with Joe Magdalena II.

Established in 1942 amidst the trials of World War II, the DWC has been a musical legacy in the San Francisco East Bay since its inaugural performance in 1943. Now in our 82nd year, the DWC thrives as a secular choir. It continues to attract women from around the East Bay who share a passion for spreading joy through music.

Members include many Concord, Clayton, and Pleasant Hill residents. Jennifer Mack, a longtime member says,“I love the singing, the camaraderie, and the bond with the other women. I call them my sisters in song!”

The DWC will perform on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 7:00 pm and Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 3:00 pm. The performance happens at Bortin Hall, Mt Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek, 94596. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for students (including fees), and free for children under 6. Tickets are available at diablowomenschorale.org and https://www.facebook.com/DiabloWomensChorale/.

The DWC welcomes new members each January and August. They present concerts in spring and fall each year. The DWC is a 501(c)(3), Employer ID: 86-2673784.
