Diablo Ballet presents storybook ‘Coppélia’ with live orchestra
Coppélia will close the 2021-22 season at Diablo Ballet.

WALNUT CREEK, CA (May 2, 2022) — Diablo Ballet will conclude its season with the family-friendly “Coppélia,” May 20-21 at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.

The Diablo Symphony Orchestra will accompany the full-length ballet, which will highlight new costumes by Amanda Farris and Christopher Dunn.

“Coppélia” centers on a nefarious doctor whose quest to transform a doll into the perfect woman creates a rift between two young lovers. Based on a celebrated story by E.T.A Hoffmann, the ballet will entice the entire family with its fantasy, wit and laugh-out-loud antics.

An award-winning, professional dance company since 1994, Diablo Ballet will use choreography created by Marius Petipa in 1884.

Single tickets are on sale for $25-$52. Diablo Ballet will also present a virtual option for $37 per household, streaming May 27-June 5.
