Contra Costa County’s annual Education Job Fair coming Feb. 24

Contra Costa County's annual Education Job Fair coming Feb. 24PLEASANT HILL, CA (Feb. 5, 2024) — Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) is hosting its annual countywide Spring Job Fair on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Pleasant Hill Middle School in Pleasant Hill from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Representatives from more than 20 school districts, charter schools, and colleges will be offering on-the-spot interviews for current and 2024-2025 school year positions. University representatives will also be available to offer information about credential programs for candidates interested in furthering their education.

“CCCOE’s annual job fair is an opportunity for teachers and administrators to learn about employment openings available in communities across our county,” Superintendent of Schools Lynn Mackey said. “This event happens once a year and is where candidates can meet dozens of school leaders and district decision makers all in one place. While a job description may look one way online, meeting passionate site leaders and human resources professionals in-person makes a huge difference when job hunting.”

According to research, school staffing shortages still challenge public schools across the state and throughout the nation, especially in underserved communities. Educators in all stages of their careers are in demand to fill positions at schools throughout Contra Costa County. Job opportunities include full-time teaching positions, certificated support staff, higher education openings, and substitute positions with competitive compensation offers. Applicants are encouraged to be prepared for onsite interviews and sign-on bonus offers for hard-to-fill positions.

Those interested in attending the Job Fair can fill out an interest form. For additional details about this free event, contact Morgan Broshar at (925) 942-3489.
