The City of Concord will open the Concord Senior Center (2727 Parkside Circle) as a cooling center daily from Saturday, Sept. 5 through Monday, Sept. 7 when summer temperatures are expected to again pass the century mark.
The cooling center will be open during the hottest portion of the day, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., to provide a cool place for individuals and families to escape the heat.
All visitors will be required to check-in and complete a brief health screening prior to entry. Social distancing protocols will be in place, and masks/face coverings are required for entry. A mask will be provided, if needed.
Entrance to the cooling center will be at the west end of the building, closest to the baseball field at Baldwin Park.
Visitors should also bring water and a snack.
