Concord kicks off its summer Music and Market concert series with Gator Nation
CONCORD, CA (June 5, 2022) — Concord got its Thursday night summer concert series off to a good start with some spicy New Orleans-flavored dance music.
The concert, featuring Zydeco/R&B band Gator Nation, delivered the first of the weekly live music performances that run through Sept. 29. The family-friendly concerts combine with lots of street food vendors, and fresh fruits and vegetables from the Farmers Market.
This week, June 9, the country/rock band The Bell Brothers will perform. The summer lineup also includes the Diablo Symphony (June 16), the Killbillies (Aug. 11) and an all-female Led Zepellin tribute band called Zepparella (Aug. 25). House of Floyd will close out the season on Sept. 29 with a dazzling laser light show.
In addition to the great music and food, a new element joins the Music and Market festivities this year. Started in 2021 in response to the pandemic, the Makers Boulevard creates a space for makers, artists, and small businesses to come together to offer their goods to the community.
Organizers select quality vendors who specialize in handcrafted products from candles, macrame and woodwork, to jewelry, clothing and more. Shoppers can expect to find one-of-a-kind creations from some of the Bay Area’s most talented and innovative artisan makers and businesses at every event. The Makers Boulevard takes place every other Thursday through Sept. 22.
Concord’s free Music and Market concert takes place every Thursday at Todos Santos Plaza, 6:30 to 8 pm. Arrive early to stake your claim on the best lawn spaces. Bring your own chairs and blankets. You can find free parking in the area. Also, you can enjoy nearby restaurants and sweet treats at places such as CREAM, Beard Papa and Cinnaholic.
