Concord high schools to host free COVID-19 vaccine clinics
CONCORD, CA (May 17, 2021) — You can get vaccinated at Concord High Schools over the next few weeks. The Mt. Diablo Unified School District has teamed up with Contra Costa Health Services, Kaiser Permanente and the Contra Costa County Office of Education to set up vaccine clinics at local schools.
The clinics will make sure everyone can get a safe, effective COVID-19 vaccine. Everyone ages 12 and older can now get vaccinated.
To help families find a convenient vaccination opportunity, 3 Concord schools will host NO-COST clinics from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following dates:
- Concord High School: May 18-22
- Ygnacio Valley High School: May 25-29
- Mt. Diablo High School: June 1-5
The clinics welcome anyone, including students 12 or older, family members and members of the community. You can also make an appointment through the county’s scheduling page or call 1-833-829-2626.
The vaccine (Pfizer) requires two doses to provide full protection. Because of this, new patients at the clinic will receive follow-up appointments. People younger than 18 need permission from a parent. So parents, please provide the consent form for your child or come in person, especially if you need a vaccine, too.
Information and scheduling will also be available for required school immunization booster vaccines, such as Tdap.
Getting vaccinated is the most effective way of protecting ourselves, our families and other students from getting COVID-19.
