Melissa Rea Concord ChamberCONCORD, CA (Oct. 15, 2021) — Ribbon cuttings are a great way to share with the community that a business or organization is open for business.

The Concord Chamber can help businesses not only with grand openings, but also remodels, relocations, new ownerships, anniversaries and more. You name it – we can find a reason to celebrate.

The pandemic has put various openings and celebrations on hold, but the chamber is back to booking ribbon cuttings in a safe manner for all those in attendance.

Where do you get giant scissors?

What makes the ribbon-cutting ceremonies special are the infamous scissors. Built by woodshop students more than 30 years ago at Mt. Diablo High School, the scissors stand 68.5 inches tall. You cannot miss them.

Even though they do not cut, they do open and close – mimicking real scissors. Students at both Mt. Diablo and Concord High have refurbished the scissors over the years. We will be giving them another facelift soon. Follow us on our social media platforms to see their new look.

A few ribbon cuttings we celebrated in September include the grand openings of the Visit Concord Visitor Center, Side Gate Brewery & Beer Garden, Office Evolution and Huckleberry’s Breakfast & Lunch. We also welcomed back the city of Concord and Concord Police Department Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS).

In October, we will hold ribbon cuttings for the Joint Chiropractic and Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics, both opening at the Veranda.
