Jane Peterson

CLAYTON, CA (Mar. 5, 2023) — Never mind the cell phone, TikTok and tried and true inventions like the microwave and Post-It Notes: Jane Peterson was born before sliced bread.

The longtime Clayton resident will celebrate her 100th birthday on March 17.

She was married to Grover “Pete” Peterson for 64 years until his death. They have four children, Ellen, Robert, Andrew and Samuel.

She taught second and third grade at Ayers Elementary in Concord and has been an active member at Clayton Valley Presbyterian Church and with the Clayton Valley Woman’s Club. Her volunteer efforts include leading a program to make Christmas packages for the families of inmates and providing lunches for Habitat for Humanity crews.

Over the years, she has enjoyed playing bridge, exercising, traveling, attending plays and the opera, and visiting with her family – which includes grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
