Clayton’s August Police Report shows 3 catalytic converter thefts in same night
CLAYTON, CA (Sept. 8, 2022) — This report details police activity for the Clayton Police Department during the month of August, 2022.
The report includes 3 grand theft burglaries on Aug. 23. These were all catalytic converter thefts which occurred on different streets. Thieves remove catalytic converters from automobiles because they are commonly manufactured using precious metals platinum, palladium and rhodium.
When the catalytic converter has been removed, your vehicle will make a loud roaring sound that will get louder as you push the gas pedal. Your car might also make a sputtering sound as you change speed, or you’ll notice it’s not driving smoothly.
Accidents

August 23 – 1500 Kirker Pass Rd. No Injuries.

July 30 – Mt. Sequoia Pl. Battery: Spouse/Ex-Spouse/Date; Vandalism; Warrant. Officers arrested a 26-year-old Clayton male after responding to a call for service. They transported him to Martinez Detention facility for booking.
August 10 – Main St. Drunk in Public. Officers arrested a 27-year-old Concord male after responding to a call for service. They transported him to Martinez Detention facility for booking.
August 11 – 5400 Clayton Rd. Petty Theft. Officers responding to a call for service arrested a 42-year-old transient male. They transported him to Concord Police Department for booking.
August 12 – 5400 Clayton Rd. Possess Controlled Substance; Possess Unlawful Paraphernalia; Warrant. A 37-year-old Concord male was arrested after being contacted by officers. They transported him to Martinez Detention Facility for booking.
August 14 – 5500 Clayton Rd. DUI: Alcohol/.08%. Officers arrested a 62-year-old Clayton male after stopping him for Vehicle Code violations. They transported him to Concord Police Department for booking.
August 21 – Falcon Pl. Violate Court Order to Prevent Domestic Violence. Officers responding to a call for service arrested a 23-year-old Clayton male. They transported him to Concord Police Department for booking.
August 24 – Falcon Pl. Violate Court Order to Prevent Domestic Violence. Officers responding to a call for service arrested a 23-year-old Clayton male. They transported him to Concord Police Department for booking.
August 26 – Falcon Pl. Violate Court Order to Prevent Domestic Violence. Officers arrested a 23-year-old Clayton male after officers responded to a call for service. They transported him to Concord Police Department.
August 28 – Keller Ridge/Falcon Pl. DUI: Alcohol/.08%. Officers arrested a 43-year-old Clayton male after stopping him for Vehicle Code violations. They transported him to Concord Police Department.
September 1 – Dublin Blvd. Warrant. Officers arrested a 44-year-old Clayton male and transported from Santa Rita Jail to Martinez Detention Facility.
