Clayton Cleaned Up

Clayton Cleaned Up
Volunteers celebrated Earth Day in Clayton by cleaning up trash around town before enjoying the free BBQ lunch.

CLAYTON, CA (April 23, 2023) — All five Clayton council members, three planning commissioners, and over 200 residents joined together in a fun Earth Day morning filled with community spirit.

The weather was perfect for the city’s trash pickup party. After a three-year hiatus,  Clayton Cleans Up returned on Saturday, April 22.

The cleanup comes one week before the Clayton Business & Community Association’s Art & Wine Festival. City Councilmember Peter Cloven spearheaded the project which was canceled during the pandemic.

Volunteers gathered trash in the morning and then enjoyed a free BBQ lunch at city hall.

The event was sponsored by Republic Services, the CBCA, and the Pioneer newspaper.
