Census 2020 Family Fair set for March 28 in Concord

NOTE: This event was canceled due to the shelter-in-place order.

Census 2020 is ramping up, and it is important that everyone in our community is counted—especially young children. In the last census (2010), about five percent of children under age five weren’t counted—approximately one million kids nationwide. California had the highest rate of undercount for young children in the entire country.

First 5 of Contra Costa invites you to the Census 2020 Family Fair on Saturday, March 28. The free event will be at Ellis Lake Park, 1760 Clayton Road, Concord, CA. The fun-filled, children-friendly event is planned for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Activities include Zumba, face painting, arts and crafts and other family fun.

The census only occurs once every 10 years and everyone should be counted regardless of citizenship. Census information is confidential by law. The March 28 Family Fair will provide important information about the census. You can also find resources in your community at the event.
