Broad daylight assault and robbery in Clayton
CLAYTON, CA (May 28, 2021) — A Clayton woman was assaulted, knocked to the ground and robbed as she was getting out of her car on Oakwood Circle shortly after 3 p.m., May 26.
“This was serious and a scary thing,” Clayton police sergeant Rich Enea said in a report to the Clayton Business and Community Association Thursday night.
The robber stole the woman’s purse and fled toward Marsh Creek Rd. in a maroon, 4-door Kia.
“The camera got good photos of the car,” he said. Clayton maintains surveillance cameras at the north and south city limit gateways. Enea cautioned listeners to be aware and pay attention to their surroundings as they leave the store or the bank.
“If you think you are being followed, drive straight to the police station.”
As of Friday, no arrest had been made.
