Alert citizen helped Pleasant Hill Police nab suspect at Nordstrom Rack

PLEASANT HILL, CA (April 24, 2023) —  Police in Pleasant Hill are praising an alert individual who took the phrase “See Something, Say Something” to heart.

Monday afternoon, the concerned citizen reported seeing a male subject in all orange concealing a black handgun in his waistband. The subject then entered the Nordstrom Rack store on Contra Costa Blvd.

Officers quickly arrived on scene and began initiating a plan to contact the subject. During this time, the subject exited the business and was quickly detained.

As officers detained the subject, they located a replica CO2 pellet gun and knife on his person.

“Thanks to the quick thinking citizen, we were able to quickly and safely resolve this incident without further crimes occurring,” said a statement from PHPD. The subject was later booked into County Jail on several open charges.
