CONCORD, CA (June 9, 2024) — Concord’s Music and Market summer concert series got off to a great start on Thursday with the Cajun and Zydeco music of Andre Thierry.

Temperatures in Concord were among the highest in the Bay Area that day, but a good-sized crowd showed up to enjoy the early evening concert. As one of the concert sponsors, The Pioneer gave away free, ice-cold water bottles at our booth, and those went fast to thirsty concert attendees.

Besides the great music by accordion master Thierry, the event had a variety of street food vendors. The sweet smell of caramel popcorn and the enticing aroma of grilled food tempted patrons on every side.

In addition, the Thursday Farmers Market began its summer run, with a colorful arrangement of fresh fruits and veggies to take home. The Thursday market will continue through September. It runs from 4 to 8 p.m.

The free Music and Market concerts begin every Thursday at 6:30 pm throughout the summer. Come down to Todos Santos Plaza in downtown Concord to join the fun.
