Clayton man arrested for attempted murder, elder abuse after stabbing reported

CLAYTON, CA (August 24, 2024) — On Friday afternoon, 8/23/2024, Clayton PD dispatched officers to a residence on Indian Wells Way regarding a female that had been stabbed multiple times.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, whose name is being withheld for confidentiality reasons, in front of the residence. She spoke to officers and appeared alert. Officers located the suspect in the backyard of the residence, and took him into custody without incident. The knife was located on a table next to the suspect in the backyard. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was later released.

The suspect, Darius Darabian (37) of Clayton, was medically cleared at a different hospital. He was then booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on the charges of attempted murder and elder abuse. The suspect’s motive is unknown.

Clayton Police have released no further information at this time.
