CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Feb. 19, 2023) — Former Clayton resident TJ Brassil won a Sports Emmy Award for his work at NBC Sports during the Tokyo Summer Olympics. The De La Salle grad called it “the most gratifying experiences of my professional life.”

And here’s something else to cheer about: Local basketball teams and Clayton Valley Charter’s boys soccer squad are having successful seasons. And, the Clayton Valley Athletic Association’s cheerleading team got high marks at the national championships in Las Vegas. City of Concord updates: The City Council voted down Concord First Partners’ proposal for the Naval Weapons Station – which means the city will now be looking for a third developer for the multi-phased project. Meanwhile, Mayor Laura Hoffmeister offered her perspective at the State of the City luncheon. Fighting crime in Pleasant Hill: The city’s retailers are working with police as they experience rise in shoplifting. The police department also worked quickly to identify suspects in multiple car break-ins earlier this month.
