So This Happened…Week of Oct. 10 through 16, 2022
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Oct. 16, 2022) — Thanks to federal stimulus funding, County Connection is offering free bus and paratransit rides through Oct. 31. The goal is to help essential workers save money and encourage commuters to take public transit.
County update: The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is seeking nominations for Student and Adult Humanitarians of the Year through Nov. 4. Meanwhile, residents have until Oct. 31 to apply for the county’s Civil Grand Jury for the remaining 2022-’23 term. Applicants must be able to devote at least 30 hours per week, have reliable transportation and access to a computer.
Women’s rights and the upcoming election: Women have been registering to vote in high rates in several conservative states that have limited access to abortions – likely impacting results in November’s mid-term election.
