Last day of Bay Area KidFest brings Blue Devils for Memorial Day tribute, plus rides, food and fun

CONCORD, CA (May 30, 2022) — Bay Area KidFest returns on the Memorial Day Weekend of May 28-30. For the first time in three years the festival brings a full lineup of attractions and activities. Visitors will find a spacious outdoor setting jam-packed entertainment, KidFest Marketplace, rides, food and fun in Concord. 

KidFest, held at Mt. Diablo High School, has its final day today, May 30. It features meet and greets with children’s favorites Chase and Skye of PAW Patrol plus children’s book legend Curious George.

You’ll find free non-stop entertainment on the Main Stage such as sensational Nerveless Nocks Legendary All American Classic Thrill and Stunt Show from Florida. Other attractions include Bugs Galore and More, and Kids’ Town America. 

Dozens of other free kid’s activities include balloon hats, spin art, and keepsake handprints. Kids will enjoy the inflatable slides and crawls, kiddie golf, soccer and much more. All this comes with a low admission price. 

Blue Devils

For the 10th year, KidFest presents a special Memorial Day ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 30. The 19-time World Champion Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle C Corps will perform. Mt. Diablo High School Jr. ROTC color guard and singer Ysenia Martinez will also help honor America’s service people past and present.

KidFest offers an all-day, all-ride wristband useable on all the thrilling family rides. These include the Dragon Wagon roller coaster, Ferris wheel, petting zoo, and pony rides. And if you need more, try the Euro Bungy, Water Ballerz, giant slide, Zorb Balls, or Stars ‘n Stripes train. 

There’s an eclectic Food Court, arts and crafts and exhibitor booths in the KidFest Marketplace surrounding the all-new Marketplace Pavilion sponsored by Stanford Children’s Health with PAW Patrol characters Chase and Skye, and Curious George meeting their fans every hour for photos. 

Admission is just $7 with a donation of canned food to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano or $8 without donation to the Food Bank. Babies under 24 months and seniors 65+ are admitted free to KidFest. 

Helping the community

Proceeds from Bay Area KidFest benefit local educational, health and sports non-profit groups. It continues for the 26th year as one of the major annual donor events for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Organizers have donated over $85,000 in cash since 2010 to local educational, health, arts and sports programs and has collected over 125,000 pounds of food for the Food Bank.

KidFest is open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Memorial Day Monday. The event happens at Mt. Diablo High School, 2450 Grant St. in downtown Concord, just off Highway 242. On-site vehicle parking is $5 with plenty of free street parking around the festival site.

All state and county health and safety guidelines will be followed at KidFest. Currently there is no mandate for wearing a face covering at this outdoor festival. Attendees wishing to wear a mask are encouraged to do so.
