ARF adoption stars Betty and Dapsy looking for forever homes

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Mar. 26, 2022) — Adopt a new best friend at ARF in Walnut Creek. View available dogs and cats online or visit us in-person during open hours – no appointment necessary.

They are open for adoptions Wednesday through Sunday, 12 to 6 pm, with early-bird sign-in available Wednesday through Sunday beginning at 9 am. Our team is excited to guide you in choosing a pet, share information about their history and behavior while at ARF, and provide helpful resources.

Here are a couple of their adorable animals looking for love:

Betty

Three-year-old Betty is sweet, energetic and fun! Some of her favorite activities are playing with toys, going on long walks, playing fetch and she has learned some agility obstacles, boy, she is fast! Betty loves hanging out and cuddling with her favorite people.

From our observations, we think that Betty will need to be the only dog in her new home; when she arrived to ARF she had a litter of puppies and was protective of them from her other dogs that were in the foster’s home. She would do great with an active adopter who can help her burn through her energy by jogging, or playing ball. She currently weighs 48 pounds and her adoption fee has been prepaid by a generous donor.

ARF adoption fees: $250 for an adult dog, $350 for a puppy (<6 months), $125 for a special-needs dog, $175 for a special-needs puppy (<6 months), and $125 for a senior dog (7+ years). Adoption fees are waived for US military Veterans.

Dapsy

Eleven-month-old Dapsy is a sweet girl who is looking for a calm home where she can come out of her shell. While she is shy at first, once she warms up she will show you the love with a gentle purr.

She’ll sometimes display her silly side by batting at her wand toy followed by a nice nap. Dapsy has a positive history with other cats and her adoption fee has been prepaid by a generous donor.

ARF Adoption fees: $100 for an adult cat, $150 for a kitten (<6 months), $150 for two adult cats, $250 for two kittens, $50 for a special-needs cat, $75 for a special-needs kitten (<6 months), and $50 for a senior cat (7+ years). Adoption fees are waived for US military Veterans.
