Clayton Valley Charter High student earns perfect test scores
CLAYTON, CA (Nov. 5, 2021) – Jason Shin celebrated some top scores on achievement tests recently. Shin attends Clayton Valley Charter High School as a senior.
The Clayton resident got a perfect score on the math portion of his SAT, which he took at the beginning of October. He also received perfect scores on his Advanced Placement calculus exam in May as well as his AP European history exam in 2020.
Shin states government and calculus as favorite subjects, and wants to study law and mathematics in college.
While in lockdown, Jason launched a virtual multicultural book club at Mt. Diablo Elementary School. At Clayton Valley, he started a chapter of Dear Asian Youth and is involved with Diversify Our Narrative and is a member of the school’s Curriculum Committee.
Jason is president of the National Honor Society at CVCHS. He also founded the reboot of the high school newspaper, the Talon, which wasn’t operating for years. He won a Lesher Award for Outstanding Student Editor. In addition, the Talon won second place for Best Overall Publication.
