Contra Costa has vaccinated 93K+ residents, now prioritizing 75 and older
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY—COVID-19 vaccinations are still underway and Contra Costa Health Services aims to administer 1 million doses of the vaccine by July 4.
As of Jan. 26, more than 93,000 doses have been administered in Contra Costa County.
To ensure quicker and more efficient access to COVID-19 vaccine for the county’s most vulnerable residents, CCHS is temporarily refocusing its immunization efforts to seniors who are 75 or older and will not be accepting appointments for those between ages 65 and 74.
So far the County has immunized more than 23 percent of the estimated 77,000 residents who are 75 and older. To prioritize the available vaccine and appointments, CCHS is now temporarily offering appointments only to county residents who are 75 or older.
As vaccine and appointments become more available, they will resume vaccinating people between the ages of 65 and 74.
Vaccination requests from eligible residents who are younger than 75 will be placed on a waiting list. All appointments already scheduled, including follow-up appointments for second doses, will be honored. Learn more through the CCHS vaccine web page.
