Earth Day 2020 passes quietly in Concord and Clayton

Earth Day 2020 came and went on Wednesday, without the usual park gatherings, group hikes or foot races. No giant Earth balls bounced around this time.

In Contra Costa County, as with nearly everywhere in the world, this Earth Day was unlike any in the 50 years since it first appeared on college campuses.

Those who wanted to show their love and appreciation of the planet did so without fanfare in their back yards or on solo hikes through the spring hills. Some tended gardens. Some shared their Earth appreciation on social media. Some simply appreciated taking a deep breath of fresh air.

Here are a few photos from around Concord and Clayton this Earth Day (Tamara Steiner photos).
