17-year-old Concord resident arrested for attempted homicide after Oct. 15 shootingCONCORD, CA (Oct. 18, 2022) — A 17 year old Concord resident is in custody at the Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall facing charges of attempted homicide. On Sunday, October 16, Walnut Creek Police Detectives, with the assistance of the Contra Costa Central County SWAT Team, served an arrest warrant at the juvenile suspect’s residence in Concord.

This is an active investigation involving a juvenile suspect. Because of this, the Walnut Creek Police Dept. did not release any further details about the suspect or investigation. WCPD Detectives plan to present this case to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office for review.

The investigation by the Walnut Creek Police Department began on Oct. 15 when they received multiple 911 calls at 11:20 PM. Callers reported shots fired in the area. A gunshot victim arrived at John Muir Hospital shortly after.

The victim was determined to be involved in this incident and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Officers began following leads for this attempted homicide at the 2700 block of Hutchinson Ct. in Walnut Creek.
