CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Dec. 10, 2021) — Much needed rain is expected Sunday through Tuesday. PG&E meteorology expects as a strong weather system impacting the Bay Area with widespread gusts of 30-40 mph (55+ in higher elevations) and rainfall totals of 3-5 inches.

We should prepare for sustained power outages that may be caused by vehicles into poles, branches/trees or other debris into wires, earth movement, etc.  Prepare for stormy weather in advance with PG&E safety tips.

Currently, PG&E expects light outage activity starting 1800 Sunday December 12 with heaviest weather impacts and increased power outages Monday into Tuesday. Outages may continue through Wednesday as the storm moves through our area and crews can safely restore power.

PG&E’s Emergency Management team is currently supporting readiness plans, including activation of local Operational Emergency and Regional Emergency Centers. We are holding calls to plan staffing and resources to respond and restore power.

Residents and businesses can use this link detailing Current and Future Outages to check for outage location and estimated times of restoration.
