Fireworks Cause Fires!

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Officials from Contra Costa Fire Protection District put on a dramatic demonstration on Thursday, June 10.

In order to raise awareness about the dangers of using illegal fireworks the live presentation showed what can happen with just one wayward firework device. After ending up in a roof gutter, a seemingly small fire lights tinder dry weeds.  However, soon fire will spread out of sight through the interior. After just a few minutes, the flames consume the entire roof.
