Ygnacio Valley Library will reopen September 8, 2024

WALNUT CREEK, CA (August 24, 2024) — Due to the continued issues with the cooling tower inside the Ygnacio Valley Library, the branch has been closed for part of every day since July 23. Despite cooler weather over the last two weeks and large fans working to cool the space, the temperatures inside the building remain high. For the health and safety of library staff and patrons, the Ygnacio Valley Library will remain closed through Sunday, September 8, 2024.

The replacement part for the cooling tower is expected to arrive this week and repair work is scheduled to begin next week.

Holds currently on the shelf will remain in place until the library reopens. Holds arriving during the closure will be sent to the downtown Walnut Creek Library. You can change your hold pick-up location to another library by contacting Walnut Creek Library staff and requesting a change to your holds.

The book drop will be closed. Please do not leave books outside the book drop. You can return your books after the library reopens or to any other Contra Costa County Library.
