CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Dec. 15, 2024) — White Pony Express (WPE), one of the most active food recovery organizations in California, has reached the halfway mark in its year-end campaign. This annual fundraising campaign needs to raise $600,000 by December 31 to support the organization’s critical operations during the first quarter of 2025.

Three angel donors just offered to match up to $150,000 toward WPE’s fundraising campaign. WPE sponsor, Villarreal Hutner PC, the Clementine Foundation, and Charlie and Karen Couric stepped up to ensure WPE can provide fresh, healthy food and other essentials to vulnerable, underserved neighbors across Contra Costa County.

If you donate today, it will double. With the community’s support, WPE can turn $150,000 into $300,000.

“No one needs to go to bed without food or survival essentials. WPE relies on the community’s support to deliver on our promise to ensure high-quality food and goods are delivered to those that need them most and not delivered to landfills,” says Eve Birge, WPE’s CEO.

Funds raised will cover essential operational costs including food transportation and storage, distribution center operations, and community outreach, ensuring uninterrupted service to thousands of individuals who rely on WPE every day.
