Vibes at the Veranda kicks off fall music series
The first of 6 free concerts at The Veranda had a lively crowd dancing as the sun set Wednesday evening. The concert was preceded by a moment of silence to reflect on the 9/11 anniversary. Sentinels of Freedom, a non-profit organization that helps severely wounded post-9/11 veterans complete their higher education, led the moment of silence.
David Martin’s House Party soon had folks up on their feet to dance. The party band performed a wide range of music and performers periodically came down from the stage to join the crowd on the dance floor. The band entertained the crowd gathered near the Veranda fountain who brought lawn chairs, as well as those from nearby restaurants with outdoor seating that faced the concert.
Several Veranda businesses, including Travis Credit Union and Dave and Buster’s, offered prizes and giveaways to help celebrate. Go to VisitConcord.com for the complete concert schedule.
