CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (Feb. 14, 2023) — On the night of February 3, 2023, and early morning of February 4, 2023, burglars hit multiple vehicles in Pleasant Hill’s Ellinwood area.

Pleasant Hill Police Patrol Officers and Detectives immediately began investigating the case. Detectives identified a suspect vehicle and traced the stolen property to Antioch and Elk Grove. Surveillance linked the suspect vehicle to both locations.

Detectives obtained search warrants for both locations. On February 9, 2023, a joint team of PHPD Patrol Officers, Detectives, the K9 unit, the drone team, and the CSI team executed the search warrants. The team found stolen property, evidence of the crimes, a handgun magazine and ammunition. In addition, they found a credit card embosser. Window punches found by the team are metal spikes that make it fast and easy to smash car windows.

Investigators identified two suspects, a 19-year-old male adult from Antioch and a 19-year-old male adult from Elk Grove. They interviewed the suspects during the search warrant service.

The PHPD Detectives are currently working to return the recovered property to the victims in this case. Investigators have sent the findings to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office for review and charges filing.
